Due to the high artistic and creative standard shown by so many children and their families throughout the school, Jill (our Community Support Officer) had an egg-stremely difficult job judging the collection. Jill spent over an hour deciding on the winners and as you can see from the pictures, it was a tough job.

Our Head Boy and Girl and their Deputies went on a Snowdog trail around Sunderland. They had fun spotting the different Snowdogs around the city and were immensely proud of showing ours, which is in the Winter Gardens, to the other pupils and to Gentoo.

On Friday18th March 2016, we raised over £1700 for Sport Relief. Pupils and staff came to school in their football kits and sports clothes to participate in a sponsored 6 hour football marathon.

Here at Thorney Close Primary School we love to read. One of our favourite days in the school is World Book Day. Every year we dress as book characters and take part in a range of fun reading activities.

What a lot of artistic children (and parents) we have! Our family egg decorating competition amazed everyone with the number of innovative designs and ideas. Prizes were awarded for the best decorated eggs during a special assembly.
