Broom House Farm
We are fortunate to participate in visits to the farm, thanks to The Sir Tom Cowie Trust. Year 3 will have the opportunity to experience life on a real working farm throughout the school year, across the Autumn, Spring, and Summer terms, allowing them to explore how the farm and environment change with the seasons.
Children will learn about where our food comes from, the livestock on the farm, the role of a farmer, and the different seasons, wildlife, and machinery involved. They will also gain an understanding of health and safety procedures on the farm, particularly in relation to being aware of moving vehicles, especially tractors.
Autumn Visit October 2024
Year 3 Fir class had a fantastic first visit to Broom House Farm as part of their three trips this academic year. They enjoyed learning about the farm, visiting the pigs, exploring the cow field, and embarking on a forest adventure that included slides and swings. The children also had the chance to search for conkers!
Spring Visit March 2024
We had an amazing morning at Broomhouse Farm! The sun was shining, and the kids were thrilled to be back on the farm. We got to see sheep, cows, goats, and even caught some chickens! During the afternoon, we had a fantastic time exploring the adventure forest. The children showed great bravery and savored every moment, especially when zip-lining and navigating the plank walk!
