Take a look below at our wonderful learning, visits and experiences.
Pictures will be added throughout the 2024-2025 academic year.
The children had a fantastic time in the mud kitchen, whipping up all kinds of imaginative dishes and drinks! Our story of the week, 'Peace at Last', has been a big hit. We've enjoyed cozy reading sessions in small groups, diving into the tale and discussing it together.
We explored the sensory room, where we saw turtles on the screen and played the freeze game. Some of the children crafted their own apples using glue and a variety of textures. We also made different shapes out of playdough, including rolling it to create sausages.
We've had another busy week in Seedlings, exploring different types of food. In the studio, we used apples and tomatoes to create prints for our artwork. Outdoors, we enjoyed playing with soft foods in the sensory tray, practicing skills like tipping, pouring, and using spoons. We also had fun with chalk, making marks and tracing around our bodies. In the den, we shared stories and used our rhyme bag, with the children enthusiastically joining in by copying the actions to the rhymes.
This week, the children spent time in their key groups, where each child had the chance to create their own daffodil print using their hands. They also had the opportunity to make their own collages using a variety of materials. Everyone had a fantastic time getting messy!
The children are enthusiastic about reading! They've been eagerly exploring the book basket, showing great interest in all the different flap books, especially our new 'That's Not My...' series. Some children have been seeking out adults to share the books with, while others enjoy reading independently. The book of the week has been 'That's Not My Monster'.
We’ve had a fantastic first week back in Seedlings! We took full advantage of the gorgeous weather by playing outside. Some children had a great time exploring the sand pit, using trucks to create tracks, building towers, and playing in the bubble cars, while others enjoyed the mud kitchen.
In Seedlings, we had fun in the home corner, where we made tea for our friends. During group time, we sang "Humpty Dumpty" and "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star." While playing outside, we worked on our fine and gross motor skills by using building blocks and bricks to create towers.
The children have been discovering their new environment and enjoying playtime in the home area. They've been busy making numerous cups of tea, feeding the babies, and even washing the dishes! In small groups, we had a snack, read "Dear Zoo," and sang some songs. We also had some time for painting. It’s been a wonderfully busy day in Seedlings!
