Welcome to our class page for this academic year.  Throughout the year we will populate this page with our learning and experiences.  Please check back regularly for updates and our latest news.

Forests

As part of our Geography topic, we looked at some of the different types of forests. We have looked at Boreal and Temperate forests. The children were given some climate information, including the amount of rainfall in each month and the temperature of each month. They then had to work to create a climograph for each type of forest (they had a little bit of help with the first few months of Boreal forests but were then flying!) They also carried out some research into the different types of plants and animals in each forest, so that we can use this in future lessons.

Division

We've begun exploring short division. Everyone put in tremendous effort, demonstrating their knowledge and understanding. Several children even volunteered to come to the front and explain how to calculate the answers.

Stop Motion Animation

We began our new topic of Stop Motion Animation in computing. We learned some of the history of animation and made our own Thaumatropes or flipbooks.

Earth and Space

In Science for our topic Earth and Space, we were thinking about the 'Flat Earth vs Round Earth' debate. We looked at a range of different views for each and grouped them together. We then decided what we thought about the Earth (most of us agreed the Earth was round because nobody has reached an edge of the Earth yet).
