"Where Learning Blossoms..."

Year 4 2022-2023

Anglo Saxons

In History this term our topic is Anglo-Saxons and Vikings. We have been learning about Anglo-Saxon settlements and exploring the features. We then designed our own Anglo-Saxon settlements, making sure we had all of the things we needed to survive!

Did you know that Anglo-Saxons used to build their settlements next to rivers? Rivers were the main water source for both humans and animals!

Scavenger Hunt

During our computer lesson we went on a scavenger hunt around school to find out what our school network looks like.  We found network points, the network switch, network printer, server and wifi access points as well as the different devices we use in school.

The Butterfly Lion

In English, Year 4 have been reading a new book 'The Butterfly Lion' by Michael Morpurgo. The children have worked incredibly hard to improve their understanding of the text and have take part in some excellent discussions too!

 Switches

Year 4 enjoyed making switches in their Science lesson.  Children made a variety of switches including; slide switches, toggle switches, selector switches and push button switches. They will now add these switches to a circuit to see if they can switch the circuit on and off.
